September character update!
I’ve had a few people ask me what happened to Kiiva, so I thought I would give a little bit of an update of what I’ve been doing in the world of the World of Warcraft.
Inexorable reformed
First, I reformed my guild.
Sentimentalism or masochism, or maybe a blend of the two.. I announced to the few core people who remained that I was going to open the guild back up as a 10 man group, retaining the same attitudes and standards, just relaxing the schedule a little. We now raid 3 x 3hr nights instead of 4 x 4hr nights, and leave Mondays open for whatever happens (later, this will probably be Algalon night, maybe Onyxia night too).
The announcement was very well received – I was overwhelmed by the number of whispers from well-wishers and people glad to see us back again.
I revamped our website and gave it a new banner (above). The first thing someone in the guild said was, “the picture makes no sense – but it looks good I guess.” The background picture is the Phoenix Nebula, so it does make sense, actually – although hardly anyone would know. But that’s fine. The text is a Japanese saying – fall seven times, stand up eight. I think it fits out guild very well.
We’re focusing on 10 mans, although we will likely join up with other guilds to run 25s here and there, but never with any pressure on members to do them. We want to stay small and tight-knit, with no leeches and dead-beat members this time. We’ve had to turn a lot of people away because the interest has been huge but we don’t want to have a really big guild with a large bench.
Raids so far have been smooth, “pro”, and fun. We cleared 9 bosses in Ulduar in one of our 3 hour nights, and TOC in another.

What would an update post be without one of my patented artsy screenies?
Next week, hopefully we will begin on hard modes in Ulduar, and jump into Trial of the Grand Crusader.
I can’t say how happy I am to be back with at least part of the guild that I loved so much. The people we have retained are excellent players and great people to be around. I’m having a blast with them in 10s and I really hope we go far.
Keeva
As far as my characters go, I have returned to Keeva (well, obviously, if Inex reformed..). Truth is, when 3.2 hit, it just made me realise how much I missed her, and the Horde, and I wanted to come back, even if it meant not having a guild to belong to, and not having much to do. I suppose I just feel more at home on this side. I would log into Dalaran on Alliance side and feel lonely (despite having a nice guild). When I logged over to the Horde, even though I was often the only one left in the yet-to-reform Inexorable, I felt like I was on a different planet, and that Dalaran was actually alive and I was home. Very hard to explain without sounding like a nutcase.
So, with Inex back together and starting into raiding again, I had to overhaul Keeva. I hadn’t raided in nearly 4 months, hadn’t a clue about the new gear out there, and for some reason my haste was an abysmal 287 (I don’t even know how that happened).
I had a look for the haste items I could pick up, including badge gear, and wrote down my wish list. I grabbed the Evoker’s Charm from badges, picked up Leggings of the Snowy Bramble from heroic TOC5 (which were a slight downgrade in spellpower, but good haste) and last night I got into a TOC25 and although I was actually lusting over the trinket, I scored Robes of the Shattered Kinship. My haste is now sitting at 403 unbuffed, and I’m happy with that. There are still items with haste that I’ll be picking up along the way, but now I don’t have to hunt for them – and obviously it means I have a little more wiggle room to take non-haste items.
I lost my 2pc 8.5 bonus (+10% to Swiftmend), but the robes are just so shiny that I don’t think I mind. It was an upgrade on every stat (except crit), including a decent amount of stam (which I’ll need for hard modes), good regen, a chunk of spellpower, and nearly 3% haste. I would have liked to keep it, but it’s certainly not the end of the world. I’ll be putting it back on for Herald of the Titans though!
Some other changes I made:
- dropped the Nourish glyph and went for Glyph of Innervate
- grabbed Idol of Flaring Growth (of course!)
- a full regem to epics, naturally
- changed to Lightweave Embroidery on my cloak
And that’s about it for the time being – now I have to rush off, Ulduar is starting!

My name is Emma and I live in Australia. I’ve been gaming on and off since I was about 11. I won’t tell you exactly how long ago that was, let’s just say long enough.

Congratulations on reforming the guild and getting back to raiding! That’s a great guild banner and text
Good luck!

Grats, Keeva! I am so happy Inexorable has reformed! Perhaps, in time, you’ll take it back up to 25, but take it slow and easy in the formation phase.
I know you are so much happier with at least a part of those you played with before.
Hm… with you focusing on 10-man more, I can pick your brain as my guild is 10-man, also… ::evil plotting grin::

Grats Keeva, is good to hear you’re raiding again. Just not right to let a good raider go…

I totally understand how you feel, the Alli not being ‘home’ compared to your horde toon. When I hop over to NE Aeri, at 46, I just kind of flounder about. It’s so lonely. Even horde side on a new server feels more like home than Alli. =x
Good luck with your guild, I hope that this time it’s all fun and no headaches. <3

Grats on retuning back to raiding and the toon you love.
I do however find it interesting that you note that a 3×3 schedule is “casual.” My guild raids a max of 2 nights a week and no more than 4 hrs a time, and we think that is enough.
But guess that is just interesting to see how different guilds are.

We’ve come from a 4x4hr schedule (often more hours, and sometimes more nights) down to 3x3hrs. To us, this is far more relaxed. I wouldn’t really call it “casual” though, and I’ve been avoiding using that term in-guild – we’re not casual, we’ve just reduced our hours. I’ve been saying, “We’re not hardcore, but we are serious.”
Many of us are still “hardcore at heart” and want to push to get as much done in the week as possible, including hardmodes and perhaps even some firsts, but I’m trying to keep it to fewer nights and fewer hours, so people don’t feel like it’s raid raid raid all the time. I find people start to resent raid times because they feel they never have time to do what they want, so hopefully the shorter nights will help to combat that.
Strangely, I seem to have less time to myself than I did when we were raiding more..

About damn time you got back to the raiding game, my lovely Keeva. I feel sad that I managed to reroll Alliance and won’t be able to apply to the new Inex (even with the shiny new faction changes, Premade’s been a good guild).

Congrats Keeva!
I myself enjoy 10mans more. A much more homey and relaxed enviroment IMO than 25mans.

Awesome
The original guild I joined recently reformed on a new server and a bunch of us transferred to be back together again. It has been awesome to be back together again, so I know how you feel. We haven’t gotten back to raiding much yet, as their is a lot of real life stuff going on, but that feeling of being home again is nice.
We have a similar philosophy, where we want to keep it small and 10-man for now, and see how it goes.
Look forward to more posts about the successes.

Much to my dismay, I’ve been healing a lot more on my new 80 Druid more than DPS as Boomkin but I’m really starting to love Tree healing.
I’m still unsure about the major glyphs and right now I’m using Innervate, Swiftmend and Wild Growth but I’m running more heroics than I am raiding so Wild Growth isn’t getting a ton of use. Would you recommend swapping out Wild Growth with Nourish instead or is there another major glyph that would suit me better?

If you find you’re doing mostly 5 mans, then the WG glyph does lose a lot of its value. Of course, it will still heal a pet (for example) as the 6th target, but that doesn’t really warrant a whole glyph!
I would go with Nourish, personally, as Nourish will be your all-round go-to spell when people are taking heavier damage that can’t be healed with HoTs alone. Rejuv is ok, but in small groups I don’t think it’s really worth it (it’s more for large groups with heavy damage on everyone). Regrowth is also ok, but requires you to already have a Regrowth on your target for you to get the bonus; few people chain Regrowths anymore, now that Nourish has been buffed.
So – Swiftmend, Innervate, Nourish would be my choice.
If you started doing more raiding, I would swap back to WG.
At the moment I’m running Swiftmend, Innervate and WG for raiding – I’ve been out of the raiding loop for a while and I’m finding some hardmodes a bit of a mana pinch – plus others in my raid are often begging for innervates, so I figured I’d run with that glyph for now.
I find I’m using Nourish quite a lot in TOC though, so I’d like to get that back sometime soon. Probably in a week or two when I’m more back in the raiding groove and I can be more conservative with my mana

@ Keeva – Yay for advice. Thanks a ton! I made the switch to Nourish last night and I’m liking it a lot more. I’ll probably swap back over to WG if I find myself doing more raiding.

Hey Keeva,
I was on vacation when you posted this, but I just wanted to wish you well on your new 10-man guild. My old one’s also in the process of reinventing itself as a new 10-man one and though it’s still a lot of work, it’s fun!
