Quick update before I head to bed.
Icecrown is a breath of fresh air. I’ve quite enjoyed it, although I do feel as though Lady Deathwhisper is a bit of a zzzfest for healing. Bit spammy. Gunship was much more fun than I anticipated.
We didn’t get Saurfang down, which is disappointing – would have been nice to clear it the first night, but we had a lot of issues with disconnects, and we were a healer down for the fight. Being undergeared (going in with mostly 10 man gear, rather than 25 man gear) and down one healer made it slightly too difficult for us. Hopefully we’ll get him tomorrow though. I’m hoping we can get him, despite being undergeared.. then it’s off to do 10s
But here is the absolute highlight of the evening (and may or may not have attributed to a little bit of time lost on Saurfang attempts..):
Holding up the raid to bounce around as a rocketbear is VERY NAUGHTY.
(But I couldn’t stop laughing)

You can have rocket kitties and rocket bears… but the rocket use switches you out of tree form
I had a lot of fun bouncing around as a rocket-bear, too
yay jetpacks!

It’s only logical really, fire and trees don’t mix.
Good luck Cullie, hope the servers are stable for you! I have the day off tomorrow – my boss is going away so she said I could choose to work or not (most awesome boss in the universe) so I believe I will spend the day doing random PuGs! I’ve been looking forward to it, but had to jump into IC pretty much immediately last night – haven’t even had a chance to see inside the new 5 mans yet.

This is silly… but I’m so nervous for IC. We’re a 10 man guild, and we’re taking a whack at IC tomorrow and I’m literally biting my nails. This is my first time ever to be “ready” for the next tier of progression and no one knows what to expect.
Your rocket bear had me cracking up, Keeva. I can’t wait to try that, if we get to that boss.

I was disappointed that we didn’t get Saurfang. There’s been a lot of hype around us going back to 25s, and with that comes a bit of pressure to perform. I wanted to get the first wing clear in the first night – to prove ourselves, I guess.
But we do need to remember that we’re jumping into IC25 with mostly TOC10 gear – unlike most of the other 25 man guilds who have had a chance to dress in full 245/258 gear. So I’m trying to cut myself some slack.
Plus, it’s gated content, so I don’t feel terribly compelled to rush. It doesn’t feel like Ulduar at all, where we have 14 bosses and no limits. Gating the content makes it almost feel like there’s no need to rush at all, because nobody can really get anywhere until we’ve killed Arthas and opened up the hard modes for the real competition.
Once we have a few months to gear up with everyone else (while we wait for Arthas), then hard modes should see us on an even playing field, rather than lagging beind in 10 man gear. That’s what I’m looking forward to.
And to doing the 10 man versions too – which is something I NEVER cared for in Ulduar. This time around- I’m hoping to have time for both tiers, because I genuinely enjoy 10s now.
Good luck on your first trip inside

Looking at the rocket-bear made me laugh. That’s one great thing about being a druid, those little things that just make you giggle.
For example, I healed using the new instance tool, and I was on my Brewfest Kodo when I had to leave group (they were going to continue on). I appeared in midair (where I was when I was ported in), but I was carrying my kodo by my talons. I took a screen shot, but I should’ve done a video capture. I’m hoping to do it again, as it was priceless watching me fly the kodo around. =D

I’ve had the Rocket Man song stuck in my head since last night..
Rezznul: was it like those proto drakes in Storm Peaks that fly off with the rhinos?
Were you a little peckish, and decided to go hunting kodos?

I was screaming down vent like a little girl (no offence to little girls) when being chased by the Lich king. I want to see what happens if he catches you tonight ;

When we finally beat the instance servers and got to the Gunships, I knew what I had to do. I had to heal on the edge of our ship, so no rocketpacking during the fight, but afterwards… lol.
Everyone in the raid had a nice laugh as I blasted around, so it was a welcome thing for a difficult week where more than half the time we couldn’t even get into instances to work.
It’s interesting that only bearform doesn’t shift to caster on launch. They’d better not ‘fix’ that!

[...] Way back when I had dual-specced Tazha to be a feral tank, but found that she was useless in that role. Our raids had all the tanks they needed and more off-tanks than you could shake a stick at. Among my friends, we already had too many people vying for the tanking role and too few vying for the healing one. So, once Blizzard redesigned kitty form, I respecced into feral dps. I found it terribly boring and annoying, so much so that I never used it if I could help it. The truth is, the only dps-er class I’ve ever really enjoyed to date is my fire mage (and solo-ing my secret horde alt hunter). I fully admit that it’s not the kitty’s fault that I didn’t like it – I didn’t really give it enough of an effort. Besides, dps-ers were a dime a dozen, too, so it was only useful for dailies, which I tend to avoid like the plague. With the new LFG tool, however, tanks are king and being able to be either tank or heal for a dungeon is a distinct advantage when trying to get into randoms. Plus…Rocket-Bear! [...]
