Achein of Dath’Remar:

Queued for ZF purely so that once assembled, he could run into the mobs, die, and get to a graveyard in Tanaris. And then left he the group.

That is – he queued as a tank for ZF purely to die and get a shortcut to Gadgetzan.

WOW. WOW WOW WOWOWOWOWOW.

    UNBELIEVABLE.

    I’m still raging.

I love it when people waste my 20 minute queue times to give themselves a quick shortcut to Tanaris! Awesome stuff!

    LFD IS NOT ANOTHER HEARTHSTONE.

Bring on the ways to police abuse of LFD, Blizz.

    Wow, just wow.

I’d like to see a debuff for people (perhaps titled “asshat”) like that where they’d be hated (or even KoS) by their faction, so they couldn’t go into town or turn in quests for awhile. :D
For some reason, that idea makes me think of whenever a DK runs into Org to talk to Thrall, and you have the NPCs throwing fruit and insults at them. One of them yells, “GET A ROPE!”

There’s an old Pace Picante sauce commercial where the cowboys are sitting around the fire, and read the jar of salsa their cookie bought: “MADE IN NEW YORK CITY? GET A ROPE!”

Thus, I made a macro that says just that when a DK is running through Org. :D OK, it’s early for me. ;)

That is so bad. Didn’t he remember the portal to CoT from Dalaran? There’s your shortcut to Tanaris.

    Sheesh.

    Lame-o.

Erispere: Then he would have to have access to dalaran, and if he could queue for ZF, he was around lvl 40-50ish, so he wouldn’t be able to go to dalaran the normal way.

There needs to be some kind of rating system that you can do to players in pugs

Does that actually work? Don’t you get ported back to where you started when you drop the group?

I was in a pug group where several people tried to do that after a failed For The Horde run to try and get out of Ironforge. They were on my server and when I checked after they dropped the group, they were back in Ironforged. Hopefully being camped for wasting 10 minutes of my time.

There was a time that I did Oculus and died right at the end, and rather than rezzing me, people left. I can’t remember exactly what happened.. I think I left the group partway back from the graveyard – and if you do that, it registers you as being back on your home server. Zone in, zone out again, you’re outside the instance, rather than ported back to where you came from.

It was a while ago, but I’m pretty sure that’s what happened.

Yeah, would be have been poetic justice after screwing over your group he ended up being ported right back to where he started from!! Sadly, I suspect not – there’s always some asshat who manages to find some way of exploiting the system for their own gain :-(

I did a similar thing with Nexus during the Elders event. I got into a Nexus group that fell apart on Heroic. While running back from the GY, I dropped group, changed to Normal and stealthed in. Got the Elder then ran out of the dungeon and suddenly I was back in Dalaran.

I think the trick is to Spirit Rez at the graveyard, rather than going back in. Though I wonder what would happen if you went into that dungeon after relogging.

I once had a run where the tank queued up, and my mage friend drops a table, like a good little spell caster. The tank grabs 4 stacks of strudel, and then says, “You just got jacked for strudel, bitch.” and drops group.

what ive been doing latly is looking closly at people and their actions. If they are ninja’s, have a mean attudie, i look up their guild Via wowarmory, look up the officers, make a level one one their server, and let the officers know who i am, where i come from and what happend and offer to provide screen shots of what happend. Don’t think that LFD makes you immune from you getting a bad name, because if you group with me….then you will for sure be questioned by your officers and maybe even ejected from the guild, depending on the guild and their rules for ninjas.

    That’s pretty damn clever… haha

saves about an hour of travel time w/o any flight points, depending on where one starts from

mmo-champion posted something about various tracking things on the PTR though (amount of times people leave group early, get kicked, initiate kicks, etc.), duno what they’ll do…

Probably the worst thing that’s happened to me and made me rage was a few weeks ago when I was trying to finish my [My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose] acheivement for the “Love is in the air” world event and get my title. I hadn’t really decided that i’d bother with it but then decided I would in the last hours of the event. I just needed the Bouquet. I couldn’t find a group on Caelestrasz to help me with it and in the end had to LFD it. After waiting for 20 mins for a group I finally got in there and explained my situation to th rest of the group and asked if they would be kind enough to pass and I’d even reward them by passing on all loot. They all agreed to this and said they didn’t need it. Then when we downed the boss – the paly tank decides to need on it and beat me in the roll….. even though he didn’t need it at all cause he already had the acheivement.

I could actually see myself using the LFD as a teleport like that. Especially for places like Desolace, the game loves to give you quests to turn in there when you’ve never been anywhere near the place.

If I were needing to go to Desolace, and was in the right level range for Mara, I’d probably queue in the LFD as a good way to get there without having to run. Of course, I’d probably just run the dungeon and then go take off my armor and jump off a cliff when we’re DONE, just so I wouldn’t be an ass, but it seems like a valid means of transportation to stupidly far away places.

I had a hunter decide that our tank wasn’t pulling fast enough in Nexus. So he ran off, pulled as many mobs as he could and then feigned death. Then he went and pulled Anomalus while we were still killing the mobs. He kept pulling more and more until we were overwhelmed. We managed to get the boss down, but died shortly after.

The next day I had a tank who decided it would be fun to do absolutely nothing for 14 minutes, 30 seconds. Then he ran in and aggroed a skeleton (utgard pinnacle) so we couldn’t kick him.
