One concern I have is that Blizzard seems to be really harping on the whole "casting while moving" mechanics, stressing how innovating and game changing this will be in Cataclysm. While I would love to believe it was true, looking at all the beta footage that is out there, looking particularly at the 5 mans, I see nothing innovative or needing these "on the move" abilities.

I am deeply concerned that the rationale for new movement based game mechanics is to appeal more to the needs of impatient players who want WoW to be more like an FPS than an MMO. It just seems like if they were going to do anything "awesome" with raid or boss mechanics, we'd see some of it in the beta, which definitely seems to be absent. Not to mention that we'd see the talent trees a laid out with a little more thought than 3 to 4 months out from launch, flushing it all down the toilet and hoping for the best.

I really still want to believe. I still hold firmly onto the belief that the next Blizzard MMO property is going to be Sony's Free Realms on steroids where people unburdened by their character names (and a sense of privacy) will be able to do Facebook and play Farmville online while chatting to their friends in Starcraft 2.

Here's to hoping...
